This study aims to determine the role of the Guru Penggerak as an instructional leader in improving student engagement in Pancasila Education at SMA Negeri 1 Sekayu. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative method and was conducted as field research. The research subjects were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The results indicate that the Guru Penggerak plays a very significant role as an instructional leader, achieving a percentage score of 93.75%, categorized as very good. This role is reflected in the implementation of student-centered learning, discussion methods, reflective activities, and contextual learning approaches. These strategies enhance student engagement behaviorally, emotionally, and cognitively. Students become more active, confident, and capable of critical thinking during the learning process. Therefore, the role of the Guru Penggerak as an instructional leader is proven to be effective in creating an active, meaningful, and conducive learning environment.
