A thermoelectric generator is a semiconductor device that can generate electrical energy from thermal energy. This study examines the performance of a thermoelectric generator with the addition of a magnifying glass configuration and a copper plate on the hot side, as well as variations in the cooling system, either without a cooling system or using a paraffin wax–based phase change material (PCM). The highest average values of solar intensity, temperature difference, voltage, current, and output power for the first prototype without a cooling system were 1005.978 W/m², 6,22°C, 215.48 mV, 12.827 mA, and 0.002984 W, respectively. Meanwhile, for the second prototype using paraffin wax–based PCM, the values were 1005.978 W/m², 11,01°C, 288.93 mV, 17.722 mA, and 0.00557 8W, respectively. The results indicate that paraffin wax–based PCM can improve the performance of the thermoelectric generator by suppressing the temperature increase on the cold side of the thermoelectric generator, thereby increasing the temperature difference and consequently enhancing the output power.
