KARAKTERISASI NANOPARTIKEL BESI (FENP) EKSTRAK TIGA JENIS DAUN LALAPAN MELALUI METODE SINTESIS HIJAU

This research aimed to determine the characterization of iron nanoparticles (FeNP) extracts from three types of lalapan leaves using green synthesis method. This research used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) on the parameters of yield and total phenol consisting of two treatment factors. The first factor was three types of leaves used, which consist of three levels (A1 = pohpohan leaves, A2 = beluntas leaves, and A3 = pegagan leaves), while the second factor was ratio between leaf extract and precursor used FeCl3.6H2O 0.1 M which consists of two levels (B1 = 1:1 (V/V) and B2 = 1:2 (V/V)). Each experiment was repeated three times. The observed parameters in the research were yield, total phenol, UV-Vis analysis, FTIR analysis, XRD analysis, and SEM-EDX Mapping analysis. The results of study showed that factor A (leaf type) had a significant effect on yield and total phenol, while factor B (treatment ratio between leaf extract and precursor used FeCl3.6H2O 0.1 M) had no significant effect on the yield and total phenol. The interaction between two treatment factors had a significant effect on the yield and total phenol. UV-Vis analysis showed presence of Fe compounds in extract solution and FeNPs as indicated by a shift in absorbance values towards greater in all. FTIR analysis showed the presence of vibrations of functional groups O-H Stretching, C=C Stretching, C-OH Bending, C=O Stretching, Fe-O-OH Bending, and Fe-O Stretching in the lalapan leaf extract solution and FeNPs. XRD characterization of FeNP showed an amorphous structured Fe3O4 phase. Fe3O4 phase was successfully formed which was indicated by the presence of IR vibrations at wave numbers 541.52–870.02 cm⁻¹ which were Fe-O vibrations. SEM-EDX Mapping analysis showed that FeNP had an irregular morphology with different appearances. The best treatment in this study was the A2B2 treatment (beluntas leaves; 1:2) with the highest FeNP value. Keywords : iron nanoparticles (FeNP), characterization, green synthesis, leaf extract
