HUBUNGAN POLA MAKAN, TINGKAT STRES, DAN KONSUMSI KOPI DENGAN KEJADIAN GEJALA GASTRITIS PADA REMAJA DI SMA NEGERI 08 PALEMBANG
Gastritis is an inflammation of the gastric mucosa which often experienced by adolescents due to academic pressure that triggers stress, impacts irregular eating patterns, and encourages excessive coffee consumption, thereby increasing the risk of gastritis symptoms. This study aims to determine the relationship between dietary patterns, stress levels, and coffee consumption with gastritis symptoms in adolescents at SMA Negeri 08 of Palembang. The study design used a quantitative correlational cross-sectional study with 88 respondents selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Respondents were predominantly aged 17 years (50%), 16 years (44.3%), and 15 years (5.7%), female (61.4%) and male (38.6%), and in grades XII (54.5%) and XI (45.5%). Univariate analysis showed poor (55.7%) and good (44.3%) diets, moderate (36.4%), severe (34.1%), and normal (29.5%) stress levels, moderate (39.8%), high (31.8%), and low (28.4%) coffee consumption, and respondents experiencing gastritis symptoms (52.3%) and no symptoms (47.7%). Chi-square test results showed a significant relationship between diet, stress levels, and coffee consumption with gastritis symptoms in adolescents at SMA Negeri 08 of Palembang (p < 0.05). This study implies the importance of nursing interventions in the form of school-based health education and promotion as an effort to prevent gastritis in adolescents.
