This research aims to examine the parenting styles of widowed mothers in instilling character education values to their children in Desa Embacang, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, involving in-depth interviews with widowed mothers, village heads, and customary leaders, as well as observations of children's behavior. The results indicate that widowed mothers in Desa Embacang tend to apply an authoritarian parenting style in instilling character values such as honesty, respect, responsibility, justice, empathy, cooperation, and moral courage. These values are instilled through habituation, advice, and strict supervision, although there are variations in the intensity of supervision and punishment given. This research provides valuable insights into the challenges faced by single mothers in raising children and instilling character education amidst limited time and resources.
