HUBUNGAN KECERDASAN EMOSI DENGAN EFIKASI PENGAMBILAN KEPUTUSAN KARIR SISWA KELAS XI SMK NEGERI 1 GELUMBANG
This study is motivated by the low level of career decision-making self-efficacy among vocational high school students, particularly at SMK Negeri 1 Gelumbang, where many students still lack clear career plans and tend to follow others' decisions. One factor assumed to influence this condition is emotional intelligence. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and career decision-making self-efficacy among eleventh-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Gelumbang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population consisted of 150 students, using total sampling technique. The instruments used were emotional intelligence and career decision-making self-efficacy questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 27. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and career decision-making self-efficacy, with a correlation coefficient of 0.521 (moderate category). This indicates that higher emotional intelligence is associated with higher career decision-making self-efficacy. It is recommended that school counselors develop guidance programs aimed at improving students' emotional intelligence to better support their career readiness.
