ANALISIS DAMPAK REKAYASA LALU LINTAS DI PASAR TANJUNG RAJA KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN

Mandala, Meldi - Personal Name;

Tanjung Raja Market is one of the centers of trade activities in Ogan Ilir Regency which produces quite high traffic movements on the sections around the market, namely Jl. Col. H. Asmuni Has, Jl. Lintas Sumatra, Jl. Depati Jemahir, and Jl. SMB II. Irregular vehicle activity in and out of the market causes traffic conflicts that have an impact on increasing queue lengths and vehicle delay times, thereby reducing the performance of road traffic. To overcome traffic problems due to the movement of vehicles in and out of the market, this study aims to conduct traffic engineering in the Tanjung Raja Market and analyze its impact on the road around the market. The methods used were field surveys and microscopic simulations using PTV VISSIM Software with parameters of number of vehicles, queue length, and delay time. The results of the simulation of existing conditions show that the biggest traffic problems occur on Jl. Lintas Sumatra and Jl. SMB II. The maximum queue length occurred on Jl. SMB II which is the nearest intersection leg to the market of 47.00 meters and the delay time was 13.50 seconds. To overcome these problems, two traffic engineering scenarios were carried out. The results of the evaluation show that scenario 2 with the arrangement of two entrances and two exits is the best alternative because the circulation in and out of the market is more regular so that it has an impact on improving the performance of the road around the market, compared to scenario 1 with the arrangement of two entrances and three exits which only reduces vehicle conflicts on the road at certain points. The implementation of scenario 2 is able to reduce the maximum queue length by 80.60% and the maximum delay time by up to 83.37% compared to the existing conditions. Thus, the traffic engineering applied has a positive impact on improving traffic performance around Tanjung Raja Market.
