EVALUASI PENINGKATAN EFFECTIVE WORKING HOURS EXCAVATOR BATUBARA PADA FLEET REHANDLING YANG MENGGUNAKAN JALAN ALL WEATHER ROAD DI PT BUKIT ASAM, TBK.
High rainfall at the SJS Pit of PT Bukit Asam, Tbk. in January amounted to 460.3 mm with a rain duration of 334.27 hours, causing an increase in delay time and disrupting the smooth operation, so that the coal supply was not optimal and the needs were met through rehandling activities from temporary stockpile to CHF 5. The condition of the transportation road that does not meet the standards, especially during and after rain, results in the surface becoming slippery, muddy, and has a low carrying capacity, which has an impact on increasing operational obstacles and decreasing effective working Hours (EWH). Overcome these problems, the company made an all weather road (AWR) so that the road continues to function optimally in various weather conditions. This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of AWR on the increase in EWH, production, and coal sales in rehandling activities at the temporary stockpile Ulin 2. The results show that before the implementation of AWR, rain caused the suspension of operations up to 99%, while after the implementation of AWR the percentage decreased to 23%, so that operational activities could still run. The implementation of AWR increased the average EWH per day from 6.94 hours to 10.84 hours or by 56%, which was followed by an increase in production during the rain from 237.18 tons to 19,794.46 tons, which resulted in an increase in sales to around 1.7 million USD. In addition, rehandling production increased from 8,363.79 tons to 13,646.86 tons per day, although production achievement still did not meet the Coal Handling Facility (CHF) 5 target of 32,400 tons per day and only reached 93%. However, the implementation of AWR has been proven to be able to reduce the impact of rain and improve operational performance.
