PENGEMBANGAN INSTRUMEN TES KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS (KPS) UNTUK SISWA SMP SLOW LEARNER PADA POKOK BAHASAN UNSUR, SENYAWA, DAN CAMPURAN

Anggelina, Putri - Personal Name;

This study aims to develop a valid and reliable Science Process Skills (SPS) test instrument for slow-learning junior high school students on the topics of elements, compounds, and mixtures. The method used was research and development (R&D) employing the 4D model. The study subjects consisted of 40 eighth-grade students with learning difficulties. Data collection was conducted through objective and non-objective tests, while data analysis included validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminative power tests. Empirical analysis of 30 objective test items (15 multiple-choice and 15 short-answer questions) showed that all items were valid (rₕᵢₜᵤₙg > rₜₐᵦₑₗ = 0.312) with a coefficient range of 0.507–0.855 and very high reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.963). The difficulty level was classified as proportional, with easy (23.33%), moderate (66.67%), and difficult (10.00%) categories, and all items had good to very good discriminative power. The results of the non-objective instrument analysis indicate that students’ KPS is at Level 3 (proficient), suggesting that their KPS skills have developed well. Based on these results, the developed instrument is deemed suitable, valid, reliable, and effective for objectively and inclusively measuring the KPS of students with learning difficulties. This tool is recommended for adaptation to other science subjects, development using a STEM- and SDG-based approach, testing on a larger scale, and integration with digital technology.
