PENGAMANAN JARINGAN REL KERETA API DI SUMATERA SELATAN PADA MASA REVOLUSI FISIK 1945-1949

This research is entitled "Securing the Railway Network in South Sumatra during the Physical Revolution of 1945-1949". The problem studied in this research is how the condition and management of the railway network in South Sumatra during the Physical Revolution period of 1945-1949 and how the railway network supported the struggle to maintain the independence of the Republic of Indonesia in the region. The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of the railway network in South Sumatra during the Physical Revolution of 1945-1949. In this research, the researcher uses a historical research method that includes the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. The sources used consist of archives, official documents, colonial reports and other relevant supporting sources. Meanwhile, the approach used in this research is an economic, social and political approach. Based on the results of the research, it shows that the railway network in South Sumatra has an important role in troop mobilization, logistics distribution and facilitating the flow of communication between the struggle areas. In addition, railway lines and facilities become strategic objects that are mutually contested between the two parties because of their vital position in controlling the region. In situations of armed conflict, railway transportation has also been targeted for sabotage and seizure as part of military strategy.
