This study aims to describe the language politeness contained in the film Keluarga Cemara 1 directed by Yandi Laurens based on the principles of politeness proposed by Geoffrey Leech and to find out its implications for Indonesian language learning in response text material. The study uses a qualitative approach and pragmatic study. Data collection techniques are carried out through listening, observation, and note-taking techniques. Data analysis techniques are carried out by identifying, classifying, analyzing, and describing data based on Leech's six politeness maxims, namely the maxim of wisdom, generosity, praise, humility, agreement, and sympathy. The results of the study show that the film Keluarga Cemara 1 contains the application of the six maxims of politeness in language which are reflected in the dialogue between characters. This study also has implications for Indonesian language learning, especially response text material, because the film Keluarga Cemara 1 can be used as teaching material to help students understand and apply language politeness in conveying opinions, criticisms, and responses politely.
