PERENCANAAN DAN PERANCANGAN RUMAH LANSIA DENGAN KONSEP AGING-FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES DI KOTA TANGERANG SELATAN
The increasing urban elderly population with social issues demands adaptive residential facilities. Designing this independent living facility in South Tangerang City aims to maintain elderly quality of life through a behavioral architecture approach using the Aging-Friendly Communities concept, focusing on three main pillars. The first pillar minimizes mobility barriers using zero-step circulation and ramps based on universal design principles. The second pillar encourages social engagement by centralizing communal areas as inclusive interaction spaces. The third pillar optimizes multidimensional well-being with supporting facilities like nurse calls and therapeutic gardens. Applying these pillars creates five main zones: Residential Building (bedrooms, bathrooms, shared areas), Communal Building (classrooms, reading rooms, lounges), Healthcare Building (pharmacy, clinics), Administrative Building (meeting rooms, staff rooms), and Service Building (kitchen, laundry). All masses are connected by walking paths with a plaza as the interaction center. This facility is expected to maintain the sustainability of elderly quality of life, independence, and happiness amidst urban dynamics.
