ANALISIS FAKTOR YANG MEMENGARUHI KEBIASAAN KONSUMSI MINUMAN BERPEMANIS PADA REMAJA DI SMAN 11 KOTA PALEMBANG
Adolescents are the age group most vulnerable to the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages compared to other age groups. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, social media exposure, and the role of peers on sugar-sweetened beverage consumption habits among adolescents at State High School 11 in Palembang. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A total of 307 students served as respondents, selected through cluster random sampling. The independent variables included knowledge, attitudes, social media exposure, and the role of peers, while the dependent variable was the habit of consuming sugar-sweetened beverages. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire, and data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the chi-square test, as well as multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. The results showed a significant association between attitude (p=0.006; OR=1.889; 95% CI: 1.198–2.979) and the role of peers (p=0.001; OR=2.15; 95% CI: 1.360–3.403). Conversely, knowledge (p-value = 0.093) and social media exposure (p-value = 0.083) did not show a significant association. Multivariate analysis showed that the most dominant factor associated with the habit of consuming sweetened drinks was the role of peers (p=0.023; OR=1.819; CI 95%: 1.080–3.051), after controlling for the variable of attitude (p=0.242; OR=1.432; CI 95%: 0.854–2.399). Targeted education and the role of peers are needed to foster positive attitudes and reduce the habit of consuming sugar-sweetened beverage.
