KEBERLANJUTAN EKOLOGI USAHATANI KARET (Hevea brasiliensis) DITINJAU DARI POLA TANAM DAN PENGGUNAAN INPUT AGROKIMIA DI DESA MENDIS KECAMATAN BAYUNG LENCIR KABUPATEN MUSI BANYUASIN
High production is not balanced with good environmental management, especially due to the use of agrochemical inputs such as fertilizers and herbicides that tend to be uncontrollable, potentially reducing soil quality and ecosystem balance. This study aims to analyze the ecological sustainability level of rubber farming and the factors that affect the use of agrochemical inputs (fertilizers and herbicides) reviewed from planting patterns in Mendis Village, Bayung Lendir District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. This research is motivated by the high production of rubber in Musi Banyuasin Regency which has the potential to cause environmental problems due to the uncontrolled use of agrochemical inputs. The number of respondents in this study is 60 farmers out of 250 farmer members who are members of UPBB. The research method used was a survey method with random sampling techniques on rubber farmers. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and quantitatively using multiple linear regression analysis to identify factors influencing the use of fertilizers and herbicides. The results of the study show that the ecological sustainability of rubber farming is in the category of quite sustainable. The use of fertilizers is relatively more controlled, although there are still mismatches in doses in some farmers. The use of herbicides tends to exceed the recommended dosage so that it is categorized as unsustainable and has the potential to reduce soil quality and environmental balance. Factors that have a significant influence on fertilizer use are land area, education level, farming experience, and planting age. Herbicide use was significantly influenced by land area, farming experience, and plant age, while education level was not significantly affected. Simultaneously, the variables in the model are able to explain the variation in input usage well. Efforts are needed to increase farmers' understanding of the use of agrochemical inputs in accordance with the recommended dosage and the implementation of planting patterns that support environmental sustainability in order to maintain productivity and sustainability of rubber land in the long term. Keywords: agrochemical inputs, ecological sustainability, fertilizers, herbicides, planting patterns.
