PENINGKATAN KEMANDIRIAN ANAK USIA 4-5 TAHUN MELALUI KEGIATAN PRACTICAL LIFE DI PAUD TUNAS BANGSA
This study aims to determine the increase in independence of children aged 4–5 years through practical life activities at Tunas Bangsa Early Childhood Education (PAUD). The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were children aged 4–5 years at Tunas Bangsa Early Childhood Education (PAUD). Data collection techniques used observation and documentation, while data analysis was conducted descriptively and quantitatively through percentage calculations. The results show that the implementation of practical life activities can increase children’s independence, as indicated by improvements in each cycle. In the pre-cycle, most children were still in the underdeveloped category. Then, they experienced improvement in cycle I, although not yet reaching the success indicators. In cycle II, they experienced significant improvement, reaching the expected development and very good development categories. Practical life activities such as lining up, washing hands, sweeping, and mopping have proven effective in fostering children’s independence through concrete and meaningful daily activities. Thus, it can be concluded that practical life activities are effective in increasing the independence of children aged 4–5 years at Tunas Bangsa Early Childhood Education (PAUD). Keywords: child independence, practical life, early childhood, Classroom Action Research.
