HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN KETERPAPARAN INFORMASI DENGAN KEJADIAN TB PARU DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS KAMPUS KOTA PALEMBANG
The incidence of pulmonary TB in the working area of Puskesmas Kampus, Palembang City, remains high, with 516 cases reported. Based on previous studies, the high incidence of pulmonary TB is often associated with the level of knowledge and exposure to information. This study aims to determine and analyze the relationship between knowledge level and information exposure with the incidence of pulmonary TB in the area. This study employed a quantitative approach with a case-control design. A total of 102 respondents (34 cases and 68 controls) were selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through interviews using a questionnaire and analyzed using univariate, bivariate (chi-square), and multivariate (logistic regression) methods. The results showed significant associations between knowledge of transmission (p = 0.004), main symptoms (p = 0.004), prevention (p = 0.010), information exposure (p = 0.001), and source of information (p = 0.000) with the incidence of pulmonary TB. Multivariate analysis indicated that the source of information was the most dominant factor (p = 0.001; OR = 8.161), meaning that respondents who obtained information from non-health workers had an 8.16 times higher risk of developing pulmonary TB compared to those who received information from health workers. In conclusion, the source of information plays an important role in the incidence of pulmonary TB. Puskesmas Kampus Palembang is recommended to enhance education through health workers and accessible media for the community.
