PENGARUH BERBAGAI KONSENTRASI PUPUK ORGANIK CAIR TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN TATSOI (Brassica rapa subsp. narinosa) DI LAHAN PERKOTAAN
Land constraints due to population density and land conversion in urban areas have encouraged the implementation of urban farming as an alternative to meet food needs. Tatsoi (Brassica rapa subsp. narinosa) is a short-harvest vegetable with high nutritional value that has the potential to be developed in urban areas. This study aims to determine the growth and yield of tatsoi plants in urban areas through the application of various concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers. The study was conducted at the Jakabaring Research Facility (104°46'44'' BT; 3°01'35'' LS), Palembang, from September to November 2025. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 4 treatments and 3 replicates. Each treatment consisted of 4 plant units, resulting in a total of 48 plant units. In the initial stage, liquid organic fertilizer was applied at doses of P₁ = 3 ml/L, P₂ = 6 ml/L, P₃ = 9 ml/L, and P₄ = 12 ml/L, after two applications, plant growth showed a rapid and relatively uniform response, so the treatment dose was adjusted to P₀ (control), P₁ = 5 ml/L, P₂ = 10 ml/L, and P₃ = 15 ml/L. The liquid organic fertilizer was dissolved in 1 liter of water according to the specified dosage, then applied at 7 days after planting on 12 plant units. Each plant received 83 ml of fertilizer solution, which was poured directly around the planting medium using a measuring cup. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at a significance level of 5%. The results of the variance analysis showed that the liquid organic fertilizer treatment had a significant effect on the number of leaves at 3 and 13 days after planting, fresh leaf weight, and dry root weight. The supporting parameters observed included soil moisture, leaf temperature, and soil temperature. The highest soil moisture was obtained in the control treatment at 11.6%, while leaf and soil temperatures were measured once during the research period. The P₃ treatment (15 ml/L) produced the best results for tatsoi plant growth and yield, as indicated by a leaf greenness level of 65.28 (24 days after planting), fresh leaf weight of 223.6 g, fresh stem weight of 15.3 g, fresh root weight of 17.9 g, dry root weight of 1.9 g, and root length of 27.0 cm.
