RESPONS TANAMAN BAWANG MERAH VARIETAS BAUJI TERHADAP PEMBERIAN PUPUK K₂SO₄ PADA SISTEM BUDIDAYA TERAPUNG DI LAHAN RAWA DENGAN RAKIT BAMBU
Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) are one of the needs of Indonesian people as a staple food and traditional medicine. This study aims to determine the effect of K₂SO₄ fertilizer on the growth and production of shallots of the Bauji variety floating. This study was conducted at the Embung, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra with coordinates 003°13’16” South Latitude and 104°39’03” East Longitude from June to August 2025. The study was conducted using a randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 4 treatment levels and 3 replications, at each treatment level consisting of 12 plants, total of 48 plants were studied. Various doses of K₂SO₄ fertilizer used in this study were P0 = Control (Without K₂SO₄ fertilizer), P1 = 0.12 g/polybag, P2 = 0.24 g/polybag, and P3 = 0.36 g/polybag. Based on the research results, Various doses of K₂SO₄ fertilizer showed a significant effect on the level of leaf greenness at the age of 5, 6, and 7 weeks after planting, as well as on the leaf life span. The highest average leaf level was obtained in the P1 treatment at 8 weeks after planting at 39.97, while the lowest average leaf greenness level was found in the P1 treatment at 15.32 at 2 weeks after planting. The longest average leaf fall period was obtained in the P₂ treatment at 29,67 days, while the fastest average leaf fall period was found in the P0 treatment at 26 days. However, the results of other parameters did not provide results a real and significant effect each week with various doses of K₂SO₄ fertilizer on the growth of floating onion plants of the Bauji variety.
