PENGARUH KEPESERTAAN BPJS KESEHATAN, ANGKA HARAPAN HIDUP, DAN UPAH MINIMUM KABUPATEN/KOTA TERHADAP TINGKAT PARTISIPASI ANGKATAN KERJA DI JAWA BARAT
In the context of regional economic development, the Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) serves as a key indicator of the engagement of the working-age population in economic activities. In West Java Province, the LFPR over the 2017–2023 period shows a fluctuating and relatively stagnant pattern and remains below the average across provinces in Java. Accordingly, the effects of BPJS Health membership, life expectancy, and district/city minimum wages on the LFPR in West Java are analyzed using panel data covering 27 districts/cities over the 2017–2023 period. The panel data estimation using a Random Effects Model (REM) shows that BPJS Health membership has a negative and significant effect, while life expectancy and district/city minimum wages have positive and significant effects on the LFPR. These findings suggest the need to adjust BPJS Health contribution rates for non-PBI participants, improve the quality and equity of healthcare services, and set minimum wages gradually by considering labor market conditions and firms’ capacity. Keywords: Labor force participation rate, BPJS Health membership, life expectancy, district/city minimum wage.
