METABOLITE PROFILING DARI DAUN Justicia secunda (Vahl.) YANG DIBUDIDAYAKAN
Justicia secunda is a medicinal plant containing bioactive compounds whose composition is influenced by environmental conditions and cultivation practices. This study aimed to identify the metabolite profile of cultivated J. secunda leaves and evaluate their potential bioactivities. Extraction was carried out using 70% ethanol through the ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) method, followed by analysis using Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The results revealed 24 metabolite compounds, with the dominant compounds being 9-Octadecenoic acid (28.37%), 9-Hexadecenoic acid (17.54%), Hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester (15.16%), and Hexadecanoic acid (7.59%), collectively contributing 68.66% of the total abundance. The biosynthetic pathways were predominantly associated with fatty acids (78.81%), with fatty acid esters and fatty acids as the major compound classes. Minor compounds such as aliphatic ketones and phenolic compounds were also detected. This metabolite profile indicates potential antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, and antifungal activities.
