POLIKULTUR TANAMAN JAHE MERAH (Zingiber officinale Var.Rubrum) DAN KOPI DENGAN PEMBERIAN BERBAGAI DOSIS PUPUK KANDANG AYAM DI DATARAN TINGGI
Red ginger is one of the biopharmaceutical plants that has high economic value and is widely used as a traditional medicine ingredient, health drink, as well as an industrial raw material. This study aims to determine the effect of various doses of chicken manure on the growth of red ginger (Zingiber officinale Var. Rubrum) grown in a polyculture system with coffee plants. This research was carried out on coffee plantation land in Muara Jauh Village, Muara Payang District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra, and in the Plant Physiology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from September to December 2025. The research methods used are Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five doses of chicken manure, namely untreated (PO), 4 kg/bed (PI), 8 kg/bed (P2), 12 kg/bed (P3), and 16 kg/bed (P4), with three replications resulting in 15 experimental units. Observed parameters include the time of bud emergence, the number of buds, plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of stomata, fresh weight and dry weight of shoots, shoot–root ratio, fresh and dry weight of rhizomes, fresh and dry weight of roots, and light intensity. The results showed that the application of various doses of chicken manure did not significantly affect all growth parameters of red ginger plants. However, descriptively, several parameters tended to increase under the P3 treatment (12 kg per bed).
