APLIKASI Co₃O₄ YANG DISINTESIS SECARA KOPRESIPITASI TERHADAP ANALISIS PEROKSIDA SECARA SPEKTROFOTOMETRI
H₂O₂ analysis is an important parameter in various fields and is often analyzed using spectrophotometric methods due to their simplicity. However, this method still has sensitivity limitations that can affect the accuracy of the results. Therefore, this study was conducted by synthesizing Co₃O₄ as a catalyst to improve the sensitivity of H₂O₂ analysis. The synthesis of Co₃O₄ was carried out using a simple and economical coprecipitation method. The synthesized material was then characterized using XRD and FTIR to ensure the formation of the desired structure. The application of Co₃O₄ as a catalyst was carried out in the H₂O₂ oxidation reaction using 3,3’,5,5’tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) as the substrate, which produces a blue color and is measured at a maximum wavelength of 656 nm. The characterization results using XRD showed characteristic diffraction peaks of Co₃O₄ at 2θ: 36.841; 59.348; and 65.225 corresponding to the JCPDS No. 43-1003 standard, with a crystallite size of 11.11 nm. Meanwhile, the FTIR results confirmed the presence of Co–O bonds at tetrahedral and octahedral positions, indicating the formation of the Co₃O₄ structure. Based on kinetic analysis using the Michaelis–Menten model, a Km value of 7.05 mM and a Vmax of 0.552 units/min were obtained, indicating good catalytic activity. The method validation results showed good analytical performance with a linearity value (R²) of 0.9967, LOD of 0.762 mM, LOQ of 2,542 mM, RSD of 4.23%, and recovery of 100.10%, so it complies with the analysis standards based on Association of Official Analytical Chemist (AOAC).
