PENGARUH NILAI TUKAR DAN SINGAPORE INTERBANK OFFERED RATE (SIBOR) TERHADAP PENANAMAN MODAL ASING DI INDONESIA

This study i s aimed at identifying the influcnce o f foreign exchange rates and interest rates on direct foreign investments in Indonesia in the period of 1990 — 2009; it applied the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. The direct foreign investment was the dependent variable whereas the foreign exchange rates and interest rates were the independent variables. The results show that the foreign exchange rates had a positive relationship with the direct foreign investments whereas the interest rates did noL The interest rates had a negative influence the direct foreign investments but the foreign exchange rates had a significant influence. It is recommended that further studies consider time length and more variables (taxes, gross domestic products, export, import) in order to find out the influence of foreign investments in Indonesia.
